WOW
Today's devotional hit the nail on the head. I swear Arthur Jackson (Our Daily Bread) was talking about me. Utilizing scripture from Psalm 103-13-19 (compassion), the text spoke of "Feeling Dusty," and being on the "other side" of the prime of life. (Late sixties--I just turned 69).
The challenges of age and wear on our bodies, with doctor visits, surgical procedures and rearranging of the home to accomodate less physical activity (say shoulders and knees and hips that don't work so well anymore) were words that described me and my loving hubby of nearly 47 years.
We sense our inadequacies, imperfections, and weaknesses, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.
Welcome to the reality of earthly living.
But our "compassionate" God cares for us. He knows and remembers what it is like to live as a man, because He became God in the flesh, to experience all we do and worse--even to dying a horrendous death. All to pay for our sin.
So we are aware of our human limitations. But someday (maybe sooner than we think) we will be raised and have glorious, strong bodies and walk and talk with the Savior.
Is that where you are today? Do you know the Savior and long to be with Him, whole and complete, without pain and infirmaties?
Ask me how you can have that assurance!!!
