Progress
I think we're making progress. At least life is going on. However, there's always sharp curves in the road ahead and if you don't have a well-tuned vehicle and a good guidance system, things can go awry quite quickly.
This past nearly two weeks has been evidence of that.
On Sunday, March 20 we noticed a little puffiness in Bruce's elbow. Fluid building from the bursa as it turns out. Monday it was very big and red and hot. Off to urgent care where they drained the fluid and gave him anitbiotic. Tuesday they called and said the culture sent in had turned out to be MRSA infection. Back to urgent care and then a different medication.
Wednesday they recommended we go to orthopedic and that trip on Thursday saw them drain and then ope up the elbow a bit to flush the fluid. And a different med with longer time frame. Compression of the elbow with Ace wraps was encouraged.
Still having fluid build up so it will be back to ortho on Monday to determine whether they will sedate him and completely open the elbow to clean out infection.
Meanwhile, I am still in recovery mode for shouder surgery with PT a couple times a week. Also planning for our big spring community dinner at our church. And company over the weekend. Busy time and a crazy schedule.
But, refering to my first sentence, we are moving forward with God to guide and good friends to support and encourage. That's what it's all about. Giving God the controls and allowing Him to direct our path.
We never really understand why certain things come into our lives. It may be to teach us or others. It may be to direct us into a new path. Sometimes we have a hard time turning in a different direction. But God always gets our attention and sends us on the path He has planned for us. Jeremiah 29:11.
So it come down to trust. Do I trust Him enough to not try to yank the controls out of His hand because I think I know best. He's a much better driver than I am.
