Life can get interesting

To say the least, life can get a little interesting at times. The last two months would describe that to a "T".

I am in recovery mode from rotator cuff/bicep tendon/arthritis cleanup surgery. I knew this day was coming for a while but thought it would be later spring when I made the appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. That was February 9. By the 21st I was under the anesthetic dreaming away. When I woke up it was not really a great dream. But I'm making it.

I was told the other shoulder will need surgery at some point--so I figured that my mail route subbing career was at an end. This type of surgey takes a while to recover from. I had to start hunting for a new job, preferably something I could do on the computer at home. Several options presented themselves, but one kind of jumped out as an interesting and easy way to provide cash flow. On March 27 I'll be starting a new job as a text marketing associate for a flooring company in Texas. See me smiling. I'll get to work in tandem with my daughter Adrienne, who also works for the company as a bit higher level employee! But yay, no high priced gas to constantly dump into my vehicle.

One of the biggest surprises in the last two months was the resignation of our church's pastor. Big surprise and with a month's notice he is now gone from the pulpit at Nisland Independent. Our board chairman shared this morning that we will keep moving forward. As a member of Village Missions organization, they will "find" a pastor to fit our church and community. No pulpit searches for us--except to prvoide speakers until VM finds a pastor. We will miss Pastor Doug, but are excited for the possibilities ahead.

With that in mind, we are preparing for several upcoming church events, including monthly FREE movie sessions with pizza and popcorn provided along with a wholesome family-friendly movie. We are also planning our Spring Fling, April Fools Day community dinner. We'd sure love to see a whole bunch of families in our community come and share the FREE dinner, musical entertainment, some April Fools pranks and fellowship.

So, as I sit here and ruminate on all that has changed in the past two months, I realize that God's still in control, He still has a plan. For my life, for our church and our community. Seek Him and He will show you.
