Who needs your prayers
In July 2019 I was challenged by a meme (yeah, I know, I don't often pay attention to those on Facebook, but this one touched my heart) to pick a couple friends/people and pray for them each day through the end of the year. Today I will let them know that I have been praying each day.
And I'll also pick a couple more friends to pray for each day through June 30, 2020. I am hoping that those I pray for will open up to me even more and share things that have happened in their lives while I have been praying. If not, that's ok too, cause God knows their needs and He knows the plans He has for them.
Pretty much since the first time I read the verse Jeremiah 29:11 in the Bible it has been my life verse. My grandson even painted a picture depicting it for me for my living room wall. Each day I ask God to direct my path and show me the plans He specifically has for me in this day.
In my first devotion of 2020 (Our Daily Bread is a great one-check it out and order your free copy from ourdailybread.org) it challenged me to be "Prompted to Pray." And it asked the question, "Who comes to mind that needs your prayers in this new year?"
The list is long. Of course, I always pray for my family members. I pray that God will draw them ever closer (I praise him that all of my kids, their spouses and most all-except maybe the very smallest grandkids-have accepted the Lord as their Savior), that He will keep them in good health so that they may better serve Him, and that He will direct their paths.
I KNOW God moves through the faithful prayers of His children--those who believe in Him and have asked Him to take control of their lives.
We may not know the circumstances that others face, but we can pray. I am asking God today for His intervention in the lives of a couple of new people I have selected to be my "people" for the first half of the year 2020. Who needs your prayers today?
If you do not know the Lord as your Savior, if you have never made that commitment and have dedicated your life to the Lord, please contact me today. I'd love to share His amazing grace, mercy and His love.
